Love Island will have TWO series in 2020 as ITV hails show's record breaking year

Love it or hate it, Love Island looks like it's here to stay.

The hit ITV reality show has dominated the ratings, having been viewed by more than six million people at its peak this summer.

But the show does divide opinions - it's fair to say Love Island is not everybody's cup of tea.

So if you are a Love Island fan, rejoice: you're getting TWO series next year. If you hate Love Island, sorry, it'll be back even earlier in 2020.

The first series of 2020 will be filmed in South Africa, before ITV returns to Majorca next summer.

Paul Mortimer, head of digital channels and acquisitions at ITV, said: "Off the back of a record-breaking year, we're delighted to be bringing an extra series of our biggest and sunniest show to the 2020 schedule.

"Love Island has proven yet again to be the perfect format that engages younger audiences.

"In response to this viewer appetite, a new batch of young singletons will deliver some highly anticipated post-Christmas romance and drama from our new and luxurious location."
