Liverpool issued title warning with Premier League 'scared' of Man City

Manchester City have started to find their stride after a relatively slow start to the season and recent results will have left their Premier League rivals trembling.

That's the view of former City defender Micah Richards, who believes City are back on track following their recent league victory over Chelsea and the Carabao Cup semi-final triumph against Manchester United.

Pep Guardiola's side currently sit fifth in the Premier League, four points behind Liverpool, but hold two games in hand, which could prove to be significant.

With City picking up pace and having those remaining games on their schedule, they cannot be disregarded from the title race and Richards has made a bold claim.

“You can’t get too excited because you know what this league is like. One minute it was Liverpool storming ahead with it, then Spurs, then we look at Chelsea’s squad, then Man United were on a great run.

"But City will always be there or thereabouts just because of the quality of their squad," he told Sky Sports.

"They’ve got to address every game as they come, you see Pep there in the interview not wanting to talk about the final yet, he wants to move on to the next game.

"As soon as you start looking at what games you have next, that’s when you start to slip up. Take one game at a time and you try to win that game.

“The way the league is going; when you look at City’s squad, you’re always terrified, but they haven’t reached the heights that we all know - it looks like it’s turning that way, but this league is so crazy.

"Focus on the next game, approach it like it’s a final. If they play like they do today, then yeah, the rest of the league will be scared.”
