Top quality entertainment is guaranteed in Kirkcudbright this evening with the annual pipe band night.
The Kirkcudbright and District band will be performing in Harbour Square and there will also be a Highland dancing demonstration.
The band has a number of talented youngsters in its ranks and some of them will be performing this evening, with proceedings compered by Ian McIntyre.
As well as being the start of the Summer Festivities’ Scottish nights, it also marks the band moving into the busy part of their summer.
At the weekend, they took part in the Annan Pipe Band Competition and finished second in grade four before going on to win the prize for best bass section in grade three.
They will be turning out at a number of festivals over the summer, including Douglas Day in Castle Douglas and Gatehouse Gala.
