John Terry sends Kurt Zouma Chelsea transfer warning amid fresh Spurs transfer rumours

Chelsea legend John Terry has sent Kurt Zouma a stern transfer warning amid fresh reports linking the centre-back with a move to Tottenham.

Zouma, 26, is wanted by a host of clubs this summer including fellow London pair West ham United and Tottenham Hotspur.

football.london understands that Blues director Marina Granovskaia is keen on offloading Jose Mourinho's signing this summer in order to facilitate Jules Kounde's transfer to west London.

David Moyes' side are the most active club in trying to agree on a deal with Chelsea and Zouma, but his wage demands of around £100,00-a-week have seemingly put a halt to any potential transfer so far, with the Hammers reportedly 'operating on a limited budget' in this transfer window.

The delay in this transfer has allowed another competitor to come in and enter the race for the centre-backs signature in the form of Nuno Espirito Santo's Spurs outfit.

Fabio Paratici is seeking a further central defender to add to the loan signing of Copa America winner Cristian Romero who joined the club earlier in this transfer season.

Sky Sports are reporting that the north London club are keen on rekindling their previous interest in the Frenchman which dated back to Jose Mourinho's tenure in charge of Spurs.

The article goes on to add that if a deal cannot be struck between Chelsea and any interested clubs, then the 26-year-old is is happy to remain in west London, where he has a contract that runs until 2023.

A prospect that Chelsea legend John Terry would prefer after making his reaction to the Spurs update well known on social media under Sky Sports' Instagram post.

Terry commented: 'Don't do it @kurtzouma' followed by a blue heart and eyes emoji.

Zouma was an unused substitute in Chelsea's opening Premier League win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, and played 66 minutes over their UEFA Super Cup victory against Villarreal.

Trevoh Chalobah's impressive pre-season form has translated into manager Thomas Tuchel ranking the young defender ahead of Zouma in the current pecking order for the new 2021/22 season.

Last season Zouma made 24 Premier League appearances, scoring five times, although he only started on eight occasions after Thomas Tuchel took over.
