Brisbane have landed their second Japanese player for the upcoming A-League season with the capture of experienced forward Masato Kudo.
The 30-year-old, who has played in America's Major League Soccer competition along with the J-League, joins exciting youngster Riku Danzaki at the Roar for the 2020/21 campaign.
Kudo, capped four times by Japan, arrives in Brisbane with a solid pedigree.
A J-League, Emperor's Cup and Japanese Super Cup winner, Kudo is the record goalscorer for Kashiwa Reysol having scored 92 times in 263 appearances for the club.
Kudo also played for Vancouver Whitecaps in 2016 under current Western Sydney Wanderers coach Carl Robinson.
His time in the States was punctuated by a nasty collision with goalkeeper Matt Lampson in a game against Chicago Fire when he was knocked out and bit his tongue.
Roar coach Warren Moon said luring Kudo to Queensland was a coup for the club.
"To be as successful and as damaging as he has been as a striker at the clubs he's played for, speaks for the quality of player we're bringing into the club," Moon said.
"His record over a number of years is quite remarkable and he will be a terrific addition to our squad."
Kudo is expected to arrive in Australia and clear quarantine in time for the Roar's season-opener against Wellington Phoenix at Dolphin Stadium on December 29, while 20-year-old compatriot Danzaki is already training with the squad after his arrival last month.
