Jamie Hamilton earns Brighton chance as Accies green light Premier League stint

Premier League side Brighton have made a move to land Jamie Hamilton.

The talented Accies defender is training with the EPL side this week.

Rivals Burnley and Everton are also watching the 17-year-old’s situation closely.

A pair German Bundesliga sides have also asked to take a look at Hamilton but Accies have knocked them back.

Hamilton is not on trial with the Seagulls but they just want to see the Scotland under-19 international in their own environment.

Accies only agreed to the move because they have close links with Brighton.

Their former boss Billy Reid is assistant manager there and head of loans Davie Weir is also a friend of head coach Brian Rice.

No deal has been agreed and it is likely to take a seven figure fee with add ons to get him out of Hamilton in the summer.

Hamilton has had a dramatic rise and has been a first team regular in recent months.

The youngster has had three red cards lately although his last one against Hearts was rescinded on appeal.
