An investigation has been launched into the "unexplained and suspicious" death of a man in Dublin.
Officers are also issuing an appeal for witnesses to come forward with information regarding the incident.
Alan Hall, 44, was found dead in a house on Bluebell Avenue on Monday morning, Dublin Live reports.
Gardai and Dublin Fire Brigade rushed to the scene just at around 11:20am after receiving reports of a fire in the house, and Alan was tragically found after the flames were extinguised.
A garda spokesman said: "Yesterday morning, Monday 18th May 2020, Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene of a house fire at 486B Bluebell Avenue, Dublin 12.
"Fire Brigade personnel discovered the body of a male in his 40s in the house and the Gardaí at Clondalkin Garda Station attended the scene.
"Today, Tuesday 19th May 2020, a post mortem examination was held at the City Morgue, Whitehall by Dr. Hansu. The preliminary results of the post mortem are not being released at this time for operational reasons.
"Gardaí at Clondalkin are continuing a criminal investigation into all the circumstances of the unexplained death of this male. The Garda Technical Bureau remain at the scene this evening and the scene remains preserved."
Gardai appealed to anyone who may have been in the area between Sunday evening and Monday morning and seen something to contact them.
They are also appealing for anyone who may have dashcam footage to get in touch.
The spokesman continued: "Gardaí are appealing to anybody who was in the vicinity of Bluebell Avenue, Old Naas Road, Dublin 12 on either the evening of Sunday 17th May into the morning of Monday 18th May to contact An Garda Síochána at Clondalkin Garda Station.
"Gardaí are also appealing to any road users who may have driven in the same area who may have dashcam or video footage to contact Clondalkin Garda Station.
"Clondalkin Garda Station can be contacted at 01-6667600, the Garda Confidential Number 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station."
