Huge outdoor dance festival to be held in medieval castle grounds - just an hour from Nottingham

The grounds of a medieval castle are to become the site of a brand new one day festival and organisers claim it's a UK first.

Just an hour's drive away from Nottingham, a huge outdoor rave is coming to Tutbury Castle, in Staffordshire.

Taking place on Saturday, May 2, it is claimed that Acropolis will be the first ever techno event to be held in a castle in the UK.

The ancient monument of Tutbury Castle has a rich legacy which stretches back many centuries, with Mary Queen of Scots held prisoner there during the 16th century.

Packing ravers into the historic location - overlooking the River Dove in the Derbyshire hills - Acropolis organisers promise "10 hours of madness" for party-goers.

We Are The Brave founder Alan Fitzpatrick, and Bristolian Eats Everything will be joined by eclectic selector Enzo Siragusa, Mancunian production trio Mason Collective, and dynamic Londoner PAWSA on the line-up so far.

Founded by British duo Jorge Meehan and Brian Murphy, organisers JBM Music staged 64 music events and festivals across the country last year, booking 328 artists for a combined total of more than 53,000 people.

2020 will be the biggest year to date for the events brand, as JBM Music will introduce seven brand-new festivals this year, including Acropolis.

Tickets are priced between £27.20 and £49.75 from skiddle.com. Coach packages are also available.
