How Amazon could ruin Christmas for your kids and how to stop it happening

With Christmas fast-approaching and secret sales popping up, parents have been ordering Amazon parcels thick and fast.

But while it might seem like the easy option, what many didn't expect was to have their parcels delivered without any exterior packaging to hide what's inside.

Amazon is (rightfully) trying to reduce waste by opting not to send extra packaging where possible, but this does, unfortunately, have its downfalls, and some Christmas surprises are being spoiled as a result.

However, there is a way to ensure your presents aren't revealed to their recipients when they turn up. Before you add your item to the basket, Amazon advises you follow these steps.

"Item arrives in packaging that reveals what's inside. To hide it, choose Ship in Amazon packaging at checkout.

"We offer customers the option to conceal their product at no cost by selecting 'Ship in Amazon Packaging' at the checkout.

Everything you need to know about Black Friday 2019

"Amazon continually works on behalf of customers to reduce and minimise the amount of packaging materials we use under our Frustration-Free Packaging Programme.

"As part of the programme we have worked with manufacturers around the world to design their products to ship in their own packaging without the need for additional packaging.
