Hollyoaks star Jessamy Stoddart engaged as she flaunts quirky diamond ring

Hollyoaks star Jessamy Stoddart is engaged.

The actress, who plays Liberty Savage in the Channel 4 soap, confirmed the news on Instagram as she flashed her diamond ring.

"On a scale of 1-10 how engaged do I look?" Jessamy, 27,

asked her followers as she showed off her new jewellery.

Her beau Ryan O'Gorman then joined the soap star for another picture with the bride-to-be sticking her tongue out to the camera in the couples photo.

After the announcement, Jessamy's co-stars began sending in their congratulations in the comments.

James Sutton, who plays Hollyoaks' John Paul McQueen, wrote: "YES!! Congrats!!"

Yasmine Maalik actress Haiesha Mistry replied: "Oh Jessamy! I'm so happy for you and Ryan. Congratulations ❤️xxx"

While Rachel Adedeji, who quit the soap this year, also paid tribute to the happy couple on her own Instagram as she posted to her Story to say her heart was 'so full' after hearing the news.

Jessamy's husband-to-be is also an actor, appearing in stage productions of musicals Phantom of the Opera and Billy Elliot.

While Jessamy has been a fan favourite in Hollyoaks since she joined the show in 2018.

She took the role of Liberty Savage, who was played by Abi Phillips from 2010 to 2013.

Viewers have seen Liberty battle with mental health issues in recent weeks as she's suffered with severe psychosis.

Liberty carried a child for half-sister Sienna Blake, but with Faith being her biological child she decided she wanted to keep her.

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6:30pm on Channel 4, with the next episode at 7pm on E4.
