Hibs transfer news as Ryan Porteous 'targeted' by former Rangers manager

Queens Park Rangers are considering a swoop for Ryan Porteous this summer, according to a report.

The young centre-half continues to attract interest from clubs amid his impressive season for Hibs.

And the Daily Record claim QPR are the latest side to enter the frame for the Scotland defender with speculation the Easter Road side are ready to cash in on one of their prized assets in the upcoming transfer window.

Poaching the Scottish market is an avenue former Rangers boss Mark Warburton has gone down before with Lee Wallace, Liam Kelly and Dominic Ball making the move down south in recent history.

Lyndon Dykes notably made a £2million switch from Livingston last summer and has been a huge hit at Loftus Road.

Hibs knocked back a £1m bid from Millwall for Porteous in January and more bids could land on the doorstep in the summer.

Ron Gordon admitted he might need to sell one of his top stars in the window, but QPR or any other club would need to pay 'significantly more' than what the Championship side offered.

Porteous has impressed this season helping Jack Ross' men reach two cup semi-finals, as well as being a regular in the league with HIbs on the verge of sealing third spot.
