Hibs star Scott Allan back in first team training after three months out

Scott Allan is back in training with Hibernian more than three months after an undisclosed health issue forced him to miss part of the season.

The 29-year-old played five times for the men in green and white before being forced onto the sidelines.

A post on social media last week revealed the playmaker was back in the gym, but images from East Mains show him taking part in first team training for the first time since September.

Allan was acting as Jack Ross's 'eye in the stand' delivering messages to the bench during games during his time away from the first team.

He also took on a scouting role and was frequently spotted watching games of the Hibees' Premiership opponents.

It is understood Allan is only back in 'light training' and is not considered anywhere near ready to be back in first team action.

But his return to East Mains will come as welcome news to the green and white faithful after missing their midfield talisman for over three months.

Speaking in September, Ross said: “Scott Allan has a health issue at the moment that we are investigating further, so he’ll be out for the upcoming games.

"It’s a health issue that’s a private and confidential matter, so if and when we have more understanding of it we’ll be prepared to comment, but at the moment it rules him out for Sunday and the immediate games coming up after."

Lewis Stevenson has returned to full training after missing the past six games with an ankle problem, while Paul Hanlon is also likely to return for the weekend trip to Motherwell after limping out of the draw with St Johnstone.

Kyle Magennis will not be available however as he continues his return from a hamstring issue.
