Haven Holiday parks explains what social distancing rules mean for tourists at parks

Haven is set to transform holiday parks this summer because of coronavirus and social distancing rules.

The chain has sites across the UK, including several in nearby North Wales.

The company has revealed a new type of break that guests can book from July.

'Haven Hideaway' breaks will offer guests a holiday home, takeaway food options and open beaches - but without access to the pool, restaurants and entertainment - reports North Wales Live.

Those facilities could potentially still be open to a reduced number of holidaymakers but those on 'Hideaway' trips would have a quieter experience.

Gerard Tempest, guest and proposition director said: “We have thousands of guests who have already had breaks cancelled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“We look forward to reopening our parks as soon as government advice allows and as soon it is safe to do so, and are busy making changes to the way we operate our parks to ensure we can comply with the latest requirements.

"With social distancing requirements likely to remain in place, we don’t expect to be able to provide the full Haven experience to the number of guests we would normally welcome.

"However we can still provide the chance for families to escape to the British coast and enjoy a breath of fresh air at the seaside on a Haven Hideaway break."

Guests who already have breaks booked during this period will not be affected at this stage.

Mr Tempest added: "We still hope to offer these guests the facilities and activities they have booked and we will be contacting them at least four weeks ahead of their break to provide an update.

“For guests who will be holidaying with us we will be making a range of changes to our check in process and limiting the number of guests staying on park at any time to ensure that we can protect our guests, owners and team as best as possible.”
