Hamilton Accies will host a boxing extravaganza at New Douglas Park on Friday, July 16.
The exciting event will be the first live boxing show in Scotland since February 2020 and it’s set to be a trailblazer for future shows.
Kynoch Boxing promotions have agreed a deal with Accies to put on a massive open air show with spectators allowed to return.
The ticketed event will feature multiple title fights and a stacked undercard including some big Scottish fighters and local talent
A bumper crowd is expected at New Douglas Park and the event will also be televised on Fightzone - a new boxing broadcaster.
Sam Kynoch, owner of the eponymous boxing business, is eagerly anticipating the event in Hamilton.
He said: "It’s the first show in Scotland since before the pandemic which is pretty scary when you think about it.
“It’s been a long time coming so we are going to kick it off in style with a massive card. It’s set to be a huge night for Scottish boxing.
“We’ve got several huge title-fights organised and a whole undercard of really exciting fights featuring some talented local boxers.
“Fightzone is a new channel that is taking British boxing by storm and this is their first event in Scotland.
“We expect a really big crowd, we need to be conscious of the Covid situation but it’s all outdoors so we are planning around that.
“This is a brand new event for Scotland because it’s outdoors and we’ve decided to kickstart live boxing in Scotland with a massive show.
“We looked at various places and Hamilton was perfect for what we wanted to do.
"The staff are really keen to have the event, the layout is ideal for boxing and it’s a very accessible location for people in Scotland.”
