Michigan has joined Washington and several other states in announcing renewed efforts to combat the coronavirus as more than 11 million cases of Covid-19 have now been reported in the United States.

Americans knew back in March the coronavirus was infectious and dangerous and a return to normalcy eventually would require a vaccine.

DETROIT — In-person classes at high schools and colleges statewide will be suspended for three weeks along with eat-in dining at restaurants and bars under sweeping new restrictions aimed at reining in the exponential growth of coronavirus cases in Michigan, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced Sunday.

New York (AFP) - US states and cities were imposing a raft of new restrictions to try to curb soaring Covid-19 infection rates. 

"We continue to see concerning trends statewide in our hospitalization data, but in the most recent two or three days we’ve seen a hint of leveling in new cases and positivity rates in most of our regions," Pritzker said.
