Rafa Benitez eased into life at Everton with a 3-1 opening day win over Southampton at Goodison Park.
The new Toffees boss took charge of his first game since taking over from Carlo Ancelotti in the summer with goals from Richarlison, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Dominic Calvert-Lewin cancelling out debutant Adam Armstrong’s first-half opener.
Benitez handed debuts to new signings Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray, with Mason Holgate partnering Michael Keane in defence.
