Gio van Bronckhorst vows Rangers will remain ravenous as he talks up 'innovative' Dave Vos

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has vowed to ensure his Rangers side remain ravenous as he welcomed new assistant Dave Vos to the club.

The Light Blues boss wants to build on his Ibrox dug-out debut win over Sparta Prague when the Scottish Premiership leaders travel to Livingston on Sunday at lunchtime.

A win in west Lothian would move the champions seven points clear of Celtic before the Hoops take on Aberdeen later.

Connor Goldson was roundly criticised for saying the squad had lost a bit of its hunger after the high of clinching the historic 55th title in the club’s history last season.

But they were up for it in the 2-0 win over Sparta Prague as an Alfredo Morelos double secured Europa League knockout stage football next year.

And Van Bronckhorst said: “My task Is to keep this drive, hunger and passion in every game.

“It is important to keep the momentum, with two days it is important to focus on recovery and then tomorrow we fully prepare for Sunday.

“The Prague game is gone and everything is focused on Livingston. We now have to show it again on Sunday as we look forward to the next match.

“It has been a very hectic week, a busy schedule. Long days but that is normal in a busy schedule when you change countries. Everyone within the club has been really helpful.

“We only had two days with the players, they have been really good. They were focused on the sessions and in our meetings.”

Van Bronckhorst has now added Vos as his sidekick with his countryman arriving from the renowned Ajax youth academy.

And the Gers boss said: “I spoke with Dave Vos a couple of times this year. I have only heard good things about him and how he thinks about players.

“He is a very young coach and very talented. I saw a very good assistant in him and I’m really happy for him to join the club.

“He is a highly energetic and innovative coach and having him with us will be of benefit to everyone.

"Dave will help me and the other staff a lot to develop our players and our team.”

Van Bronckhorst has no fresh injuries but both Leon Balogun and Kemar Roofe are still unavailable.
