Gary Lineker sends Everton message to Carlo Ancelotti and Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Gary Lineker has praised Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Carlo Ancelotti after Everton continued their perfect start to the Premier League season.

Ancelotti watched his side beat Brighton & Hove Albion 4-2 at Goodison Park on Saturday to make it four wins from as many games in the league.

Calvert-Lewin opened the scoring for the hosts before the Seagulls took advantage of a misjudgement from Jordan Pickford. Yerry Mina headed in before half-time before James Rodriguez added two in the second period.

Brighton scored a late consolation goal but it was a convincing performance from Everton, who sit top of the Premier League.

Lineker tweeted: “What a brilliant job Ancelotti is doing. Great to see @Everton flying high. James makes it 3-1.”

As well as that, the ex-Everton forward was moved by the fine form of Calvert-Lewin.

The 23-year-old - who received his first England call-up this week - has scored nine goals in six matches.

Lineker tweeted: “And @CalvertLewin14 becomes the first @Everton player to score in the opening 4 Premier League games of the season. Well played.”
