Gardai investigating overnight petrol bomb attack in feud-hit Drogheda, Co Louth

An investigation is underway after an overnight petrol bomb attack in a feud-hit town.

A number of people were treated for smoke inhalation after the incident at a home in Drogheda, Co Louth.

The house in the Rathmullen Park area was targeted at around 1.30am on Wednesday.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the attack.

The occupants of the home evacuated the building before fire services arrived.

A garda spokeswoman told the Irish Mirror: "Gardaí attended an incident of criminal damage by fire at a house in Rathmullen Park which occurred at approx. 1.30am.

"The house was damaged in the incident, no injuries were sustained."
