Four men are due to appear in court today after a firearm was recovered in Toxteth.
Officers descended on a property in Corinto Street at around 7.45pm on Thursday (March 11).
Two men were detained in a Mercedes outside the address and two further men and a woman were detained in the garden of the property.
Following a short chase on foot, officers also detained a man on nearby Pickwick Street.
Thomas Lawler, 23, of Corinto Street, Toxteth has now been charged with the sell/transfer of a prohibited weapon and possession of ammunition.
James McGlade, 24, of Lower Hall Street, St Helens, has been charged with the sell/transfer of a prohibited weapon.
Sefer Allushi, 26, of no fixed abode and Erald Sida, 31, of Nursery Road, Bloxwich, Walsall, were both charged with the sell/transfer of a prohibited weapon and possession of a firearm.
They are all due to appear at Liverpool magistrates' court this morning (Saturday, March 13).
Two other people, a 50-year-old man from Toxteth and a 45-year-old woman from Gateacre have been released under investigation.
