Firearms officers sent to Scottish island after 'disturbance' report

FIREARMS officers were sent to an incident on a Scottish island following a report of a disturbance.

Police received a report of a disturbance at a property on Tiree in the Inner Hebrides at around 9.40am on August 25.

A 44-year-old man was arrested and charged following the incident on Sunday, officers said.

It is understood firearms officers went to the scene as a precaution.

A 44-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear at Oban Sheriff Court in due course, police said.
