European work culture shocks Indian man, says no one glorifies staying late at work, people turn down promotions...

An Indian man living in Europe has triggered an online discussion after describing what he called the “biggest work culture shock” for Indians working there. In a video shared on Instagram through the account ‘Our Unscripted Life’, he said the most unexpected difference was not related to salaries, working hours or workplace benefits, but the importance people placed on life outside work.

In the video, he said people in Europe appeared more enthusiastic about their lives after office hours and did not treat work as the centre of their identity. According to him, employees did not glorify staying late at work or constantly remaining busy. He also noted that some people were willing to decline promotions in order to protect their peace and personal lives, adding that success was viewed differently in Europe.
