Crystal Palace fans react predictably as Aaron Wan-Bissaka is not included in the England squad

A provisional 27-man England squad has been announced for the UEFA Nations League finals next month - and there is no place for Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The Croydon-born full-back has had a standout season with Palace , winning the player of the season and players' player of the season awards after making 37 appearances for the Eagles.

He has earned widespread praise from pundits and fans alike, but has not yet been included in the England senior squad, despite his impressive form for Roy Hodgson's side.

And there is no place for the 21-year-old in Southgate's latest squad, with the Three Lions boss naming a 27-man party for the UEFA Nations League finals, with England facing the Netherlands in the semi-finals on Thursday, June 6, before playing either Switzerland or Portugal on Sunday, June 9.

Batshuayi, Wan-Bissaka, Zaha - Every Crystal Palace player and Roy Hodgson rated this season

Southgate will cut the squad down to 23 players prior to the Nations League finals in Portugal.

It is understood that Southgate did not want to disrupt England's U21 side's preparations for the European Championships in Italy next month, and that is why the likes of Wan-Bissaka, Leicester City's James Maddison and Manchester City's Phil Foden were not called up to the senior squad.

But that has not stopped Palace fans from reacting to Wan-Bissaka not being included in the England squad, with some supporters saying the same things about Southgate's selection and the international future of the Eagles star, who also qualifies to play for DR Congo.
