Conor McGregor backed to be 'more dangerous' than ever when he makes injury return

Conor McGregor will come back 'more dangerous' than ever when he returns from injury, according to his SBG teammate Brian Moore.

Moore, who has sparred with the former two-weight UFC champion in the past, has linked up with teammates James Gallagher and Kiefer Crosbie ahead of his upcoming bout at Bellator 263.

And the Wexford man said that the mood with his teammates, who attended the fight and met McGregor in the aftermath, is that he will come back stronger, having performed at his best under serious adversity in the past.

"All of us who know Conor know that he has the most bullet-proof mindset we've ever seen," Moore told the Mirror UK

"So while this may be a big deal for many, I don't think it will be a big deal for him, he's come back from injury but also many other different things."

Moore and his SBG Ireland teammate Crosbie will face off against Jordan Winski and Georgi Karakhanyan respectively on the undercard of one of Bellator's biggest cards ever this weekend in California.

And having both worked closely with the former lightweight champion during previous fight camps, they believe that his comeback will be another great chapter in his historic career.

"He's proven what he's worth," Moore continued. "He's going to be more dangerous now I think.

"He'll be more backed into a corner where he'll want to prove to himself perhaps that he is the best in the world.

"The general mood last night when we were speaking about it briefly was that he has done what nobody else has done, and you need a different mindset for that.

"You need to be an outlier, and I think he'll deal with this injury and this setback just like that.

"The cards are stacked against him, but he will overcome."

McGregor has already been spotted back in training despite suffering an horrific leg break just days ago in his trilogy with Poirier at UFC 264.

He broke his tibia while stepping back from a kick and required surgery, which he underwent successfully immediately after the event.

The Irishman was seen wearing a heavy cast in photos he posted to Instagram while working on his upper body with McGregor FAST coach Dr Julian Dalby M.D.

He has also reunited with his family, fiancee Dee Devlin and children Conor Jr, Croia and Rian, in California, where he was recently spotted with pal Justin Bieber.

The pair went for cocktails made from his Proper 12 whiskey brand over the weekend before the Irishman was spotted in the front row at Bieber's 'The Freedom Experience' concert at SoFi Stadium.

It remains to be seen when McGregor will return, but it is expected to be in the mid-to-late part of 2022 due to the severity of his injury.

Bellator 263: Pitbull vs McKee, which includes Moore vs Winski and Crosbie vs Karakhanyan, can be seen from 11.55pm on BBC iPlayer this Saturday, July 31.
