Add another item to the ledger for Christian McCaffrey’s MVP case.
According to Pro Football Focus, McCaffrey has the most touches of any running back in the NFL this season without a fumble. It’s not even close, either. He has 54 more than the next guy on the list – Colts running back Marlon Mack.
McCaffrey never had a huge fumbling problem, but he has put a few on the ground here and there. He had two fumbles his rookie season and four more in 2018.
His sure-handedness also extends to the passing game. Last year, McCaffrey was one of only a handful of players who did not drop single target.
After six games, McCaffrey leads the NFL in rushing yards, yards from scrimmage and total touchdowns scored.
