Chelsea's most consistent player under Frank Lampard following Wolves win

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has hailed Mason Mount as Chelsea's most consistent performer after the Premier League season reached its conclusion.

Mount opened the scoring for the Blues in the 2-0 triumph over Wolves at Stamford Bridge that secured Chelsea's spot in the Champions League next season.

That took the young midfielder's tally across all competitions to eight goals, while he has also registered six assists, and Wright believes he has been the stand-out performer in Frank Lampard's first season in charge.

"51 games he’s played this season. I think he’s been their most consistent performer," he told BBC's Match of the Day.

"I think you’ve got to mention Tammy Abraham, nicked 15 goals this season and has to get a mention, but Mason Mount has, for me, been the outstanding youngster that’s kicked in.

"Christian Pulisic has to get a mention as well, but what Mason Mount’s done from the start of the season to now has to be recognised, I think he’s been absolutely magnificent for them.

"I’m delighted for Frank, people saying we favour him because he’s our mate, he’s done an unbelievable job, and he is my mate and I’m proud of him."
