Bus driver jobs you don't need any experience to get started

Arriva is Merseyside's biggest bus operator and one of the biggest transport companies in Europe.

It currently has a range of jobs going for trainee and experienced drivers in the Merseyside area - based in the Bootle, Speke, and Liverpool Green Lane depots.

The job advert states that previous experience is not essential as Arriva will train you, and the company is urging people who are in a similar role or looking for a change in career to apply now.

The pay is £11.47 per hour, rising to £13.50 an hour. This is a full-time contract with potential overtime.

Full training will be given by qualified driving instructors to obtain a PCV (passenger carrying vehicle) licence, with additional training at your allocated garage.

This includes vehicle familiarisation, route learning, ticket machines, customer care, policies and procedures.

Uniforms will be provided and you will have access to the "Arriva Village," where you can take advantage of store discounts and offers.

In addition, you will be entitled to free bus travel for you and your family, provided they are within the same household.

The job advert states: "You will need to be passionate about giving excellent customer service and love working with a variety of different people living and working in your local area, whilst being able to stay calm under pressure.

"We are looking for candidates who are prepared to work a variety of different shift patterns which will include weekend work."

Candidates will need to be a minimum of 18 years of age, a full UK driving licence holder for a minimum of 12 months, with no more than six points on their licence and no unspent drink driving conviction.
