Browns OL cited by PFF as example of turning a weakness into a strength

Browns fans know all too well how bad the offensive tackles performed the last two seasons in pass protection. The new Andrew Berry/Kevin Stefanski regime did too, which is why they spent major resources overhauling the problematic position.

We all are hopeful the additions of Jack Conklin at right tackle and Jedrick Wills on the left side provide major upgrades over the duo of Chris Hubbard and Greg Robinson. Those hopes got a nice vote of confidence from the analysts at Pro Football Focus.

PFF cited the Browns offensive tackles, specifically their pass protection, as one of the top examples of an NFL team turning a 2019 weakness into a 2020 strength. The Broncos offensive skill positions, the Eagles WRs and the Vikings CBs are the other units mentioned.

Even better, PFF notes how well the new additions thrive in run blocking as well as pass protection. That plays directly into the offensive style favored by Stefanski as well as augmenting the impact of standout RB Nick Chubb.
