May 18--A pedestrian on the 10 Freeway was killed early Wednesday by a hit-and-run driver, officials said.
Several freeway lanes were closed as California Highway Patrol officers investigated the incident on the eastbound lanes of the freeway.
It is unclear what the person was doing on the freeway near Sunset Avenue.
CHP officials said the pedestrian was spotted on the freeway at 3:32 a.m.
The driver in an unidentified vehicle fled the area before officers arrived, CHP Officer Monica Posada said.
Because information is limited, CHP officials are asking for help with details about the incident and vehicle involved.
Anyone with information is urged to call the CHP's Baldwin Park station at (626) 338-1164.
