BRIEF: Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson square off at British Open

July 13--It was just a few weeks ago that Dustin Johnson blew a four-foot putt on the 18th green at Chambers Bay to hand the U.S. Open to Jordan Spieth.

Now the golfers will square off again, placed in the same group for the start of the British Open.

Spieth and Johnson -- who will be joined by Hideki Matsuyama and tee off at 1:33 a.m. PDT on Thursday -- aren't the only notable pairing scheduled for Thursday at St. Andrews.

Bubba Watson, Charl Schwartzel and the always entertaining Ian Poulter tee off at 1 a.m. Matt Kuchar, Phil Mickelson and Henrik Stenson go at 9:34 a.m. PDT. Rickie Fowler, Justin Rose and Nick Faldo start a few minutes later.

No. 1-ranked Rory McIlroy will miss this year's Open after injuring his ankle while playing soccer with friends.
