Boris Johnson's dad has branded the British public illiterate during an on-air rant.
I'm A Celebrity star Stanley Johnson, 79, was on the Victoria Derbyshire Show when he made the extraordinary comments.
Presenter Joanna Gosling read out a tweet from a viewer calling the Prime Minister "Pinocchio".
But former MEP Stanley hit back saying: "That requires a degree of literacy, which I think the great British public doesn't necessarily have."
Shocked by the remark, Ms Gosling replied: "What do you mean by that?" and called the comment "pejorative".
Mr Johnson then continued his rant against the British public: "They couldn't spell Pinocchio of they tried."

The host, growing increasingly stunned, asked: "Why would you say that?"
To which Mr Johnson replied: "Well could you spell Pinocchio?"
He went on: "I think it's utterly absurd and wrong that you can read out on air a tweet informing your viewers which calls the Prime Minister a liar. I think it's amazing you can do that."

It comes a day after an article written by the Prime Minister in 1995 resurfaced, which described the children of single mums as "ill-raised, ignorant, aggressive and illegitimate children".
He was later mauled in an LBC live interview by a caller who told him: "I'm a single mother, I don't appreciate what you've said about single mothers and, by implication, my family.
"Why are you happy to criticise people like me when you refuse to discuss your family?"
