
A man was taken into custody Thursday after a 15-year-old boy was shot in Gary, Indiana.
Officers responded about 9:15 a.m. to the 5800 block of West 36th Avenue and found the teen with a gunshot wound the leg, Gary police said in a statement.
He was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
The suspect, a 40-year-old man from Whiting, Indiana, was found in a nearby wooded area and arrested without incident, police said.
The man and the teen knew each other, police said.
Charges are pending as Gary police investigate.
