All trains between Manchester and London Euston suspended following trespassing incident

UPDATE 7pm: All lines have reopened but some services may be delayed or cancelled

Train passengers travelling between Manchester and London face major disruption this evening following reports of a trespassing incident near Euston.

The line is currently blocked between Euston and Watford Junction, meaning no trains are able to run directly from Manchester Piccadilly.

Disruption is expected to last until  at least 7pm.

A post on the National Rail website said: "A trespass incident means all lines are currently blocked between London Euston and Watford Junction. Trains will be cancelled or amended.

"We anticipate major disruption will continue until at least 7pm."

Manchester Piccadilly tweeted about the incident, saying: "Due to an ongoing police incident, all services to London Euston are currently suspended."

Virgin Trains, who run services between Euston and Manchester, said anyone booked to travel today will be valid for travel any time tomorrow.

While Anna Jones posted a photo of the busy station crammed with passengers.

She wrote: "Euston right now - every single train from the station suspended because of trespassers on the line near Wembley. It is chaotic here."
