Alexandre Lacazette provides update on his Arsenal future amid summer exit reports

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has provided an update on his future at the Emirates Stadium amid reports that he could leave the club in the summer should they not qualify for the Champions League.

The Times reported that the Frenchman has an agreement in place with the Gunners that they will let him leave should they not finish in the top five positions at the end of the season.

Lacazette has two-years remaining on his contract and was linked with a January move to Atletico Madrid.

Arsenal currently sit in ninth place in the Premier League, four points adrift of fifth placed Manchester United and seven adrift of Chelsea in fourth. Manchester City's two-year ban from the Champions League is awaiting appeal, but should it stand then fifth place would be enough for qualification this season.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference ahead of Arsenal's Europa League second leg against Olympiacos, Lacazette addressed the reported agreement between him and the club.

"I didn’t know about this (the contract reports)," he said.

"I have a contract with the club so there is no point for me to leave.”

The 28-year-old has re-found his goalscoring form over the last two games after a difficult couple of months in front of goal.

The striker scored the Gunners' fourth from the bench in the 4-0 win over Newcastle before netting what could be a crucial away goal in the first leg of the tie against Olympiacos.
