Aaron Rodgers and Matt LaFleur would love Doug Farrar’s new mock draft

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and new head coach Matt LaFleur would almost certainly be fans of Doug Farrar’s new mock draft at Touchdown Wire.

Not only does the mock draft have the Packers taking Iowa tight end T.J. Hockenson with the 12th overall pick, but it also gives the offense Arizona State receiver N’Keal Harry later in the first round at No. 30 overall.

It’s possible the Packers could focus their early efforts in the 2019 draft on adding playmakers to the offense, especially after committing so much time and money on the defense in free agency.

Hockenson and Harry would provide a dynamic new duo for Rodgers and LaFleur and help reignite the offense in a new scheme.

Hockenson is a dual-threat tight end who can block in the run game and make plays all over the field as a receiver, providing a potentially perfect tight end option for LaFleur’s new offense. Harry is a big target (6-2, 228) who wins at the catch point and after the catch and looks ready to contribute right away at the next level.

A modern scheme with Hockenson, Harry, Davante Adams, Aaron Jones and a strong offensive line around Rodgers has the chance for fireworks in 2019 and beyond.

It might be hard for GM Brian Gutekunst to bypass all the great defensive prospects likely to be available to the Packers in the first round, but after years of spending high picks on attempting to fix the defense, it could be time to reinvest around Rodgers and rebuild the offense for the final stretch of his career.
