49ers inactives: Dee Ford will play vs. Steelers

The 49ers got some good news ahead of their home opener. Defensive end Dee Ford is active and will play against the Steelers.

Here are the 49ers’ inactives for Week 3:

QB CJ Beathard
WR Jalen Hurd
OT Joe Staley
DB Jimmie Ward
RB Tevin Coleman
OT Sam Young
DL Jullian Taylor

Ford missed the second half of the team’s Week 2 win over Cincinnati with a quad injury. He was out for Wednesday and Thursday’s practices before participating Friday.

San Francisco has the bye week in Week 4, so Ford will have a week off to rest that quad and get healthy for the final 13 games.

It’s also notable that CB Jason Verrett is active for the first time as a 49er. It’s his first game since tearing his ACL in Week 1 of the 2017 season.
