World's top 50 most beautiful beaches including 'most pristine sand you'll ever see'

The "most pristine beach you'll ever lay eyes on" has been voted the best in the world.

Lucky Bay in south west Australia isn't just clean and clearly very beautiful, it has a population of kangaroos which jump along it.

According to the beach enthusiasts at Banana Boat, the coastal spot has some of the "most pristine snow-white sand and incredible turquoise water you will ever see" along its 5km stretch.

It is easy enough to find a less crowded spot for yourself when heading to the beach, partly because it is tricky to get to without a four-wheel drive car.

Once you're there there's load to do, from walking the trails slightly inland, playing beach games, fishing or snorkelling in the calm water above the reef, which sits about 50metres from the shore and stops the swell getting too rough.

While the kangaroos which have made their homes there are wild, they are comfortable enough around humans to linger fairly close by without being overly menacing.

The weather is generally very good in the area, with little chance of rain or cloud to put a dampener on your trip or to block the generally stunning night skies if you decide to camp at the beach overnight.

"Lucky Bay didn’t disappoint. We drove onto the beach and sat watching the 180 degree view of tranquillity," one person recently wrote on Tripadvisor.

"Mother kangaroo with Joey in pouch jumped up to our blanket looking for food and to all the other beachgoers. It was a magical moment. Views to die for!"

If you can't make it down to Australia but are passing through the Seychelles, then a visit to Anse Source D'Argent - the second highest ranked beach in the world - is definitely in order.

"Trust us, it is breath-taking, with granite boulders by the water shore and pinkish sands as a perfect contrast to the crystal clear, turquoise water," Banana Boat's beach experts write of the spot. "This beach will genuinely make you feel as if you just stepped into a paradise painting."

Anse Source d’Argent is located in the south-west of La Digue island and it has clear shallow water that allows for an excellent view of the coral reef below.

To avoid most of the rain in Seychelles, it is best to skip December, January, and February, while the high summer months may be a little busy for some.

April and October are in between two trade winds that hit the island every year, resulting in calmer water conditions and less chance of seaweed hitting the fantastic beaches.

Hidden Beach in the Philippines is the third best beach on the list, tucked away as it is behind towering limestone cliffs that make it almost completely secluded.

The small cove can only be accessed by boat, followed by a quick swim through a small opening. Generally the weather in the area is warm enough to make a swim in the greeny-blue lagoon too tempting to resist.

"Once you reach this unparalleled paradise you will never want to leave!" Banana Boat writes.

"Crystal clear, shallow water surrounded by white sand and majestic limestone walls with lush greenery and palms, there is no question why so many of our beach experts voted this one of the best."
