Celeb kids unrecognisable as they dress up in eye-catching costumes for World Book Day

Children dressed as their favourite literary heroes for World Book Day today - with three-year-old Ellis Wright becoming Prince Harry, from the cover of his memoirs, Spare.

Makeup artist Melissa Wright, 36, from Surrey, said of her son: “He is quite feisty, he’s definitely got an opinion, which then kind of led me to Harry.”

McFly’s Tom Fletcher, 37, matched son Buzz, seven, in Harry Potter outfits, while 33-year-old Rochelle Humes five-year-old daughter Valentina went as Isodora Moon.

David Walliams, 51, shared how his son Alfred, nine, dressed as Space Boy from dad David’s book, while England footballer Raheem Sterling, 28, dressed his three sons Thiago, five, Thai-Cruz, three, and Tori-Sevyn, two, as Elmer, Supertato and a robot.

Former PM Boris Johnson, 58, had his son Wilf, 2, take inspiration from The Dinosaur that Pooped Easter, which mum Carrie, 34, shared online, writing: “The most excited little dinosaur on World Book Day.”

Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh, 41, shared her seven-year-old son Bobby “rocking his fave suit as the Accidental Secret Agent by Tom McLaughlin (with an actual spy camera pen he already had) while Cole, five, went as a character from Cops and Robbers by Janet & Allan Ahlberg.

Kimberley captioned the post of her son: "Needless to say World book day crept up on us again but thankfully the school wanted everyone to be sustainable and work with what we had at home so that’s what we did.

The writer, Tom, was so impressed by the costume that he commented: "As the author of this book, this makes me very happy!"
