Wiltshire home improvements firm to open new Swindon showroom

A Wiltshire home improvements firm is set to open a new £250,000 showroom in a building formerly used by the Blade Motor Group in Swindon.

TWC, which provides windows, doors, conservatories, orangeries, extensions and porches to homeowners across the county, said it expects to welcome more than 1,000 people to the facility on its opening weekend.

Former Swindon Town footballer Don Rodgers will cut the ribbon during an event at the 5,000 sq ft facility on Elgin Industrial Estate on Friday (July 8)

The business said the move comes after an “whirlwind” period of growth for the company, which has seen it increase sales by 30% and add seven people to its workforce.

Director Joseph Heaton said global supply chain issues had caused the company “numerous headaches”, including a lack of skilled labour.

Mr Heaton said: “Because of this we had to use our own installers on the build, so had to juggle the demands of our own showroom with ensuring our customer projects were all completed on time.

“This has really added to the quality and finish of our building, and we can’t wait to open the doors and show existing and new customers the new-look TWC.”

He added the new base would give the company additional space to showcase its growing product range, in a location “well known” by local people.

The family-run company, which has been trading for more than 30 years, became part of national home improvements network the Conservatory Outlet at the end of 2018.

Greg Kane, chief executive of Conservatory Outlet, said: “It has been fantastic to see the growth of TWC and the ambition the business has to become the biggest and best home improvement specialist in the South West.

“The showroom is an important next step in achieving this vision and will help improve the customer experience even further – something that is at the heart of the network and how Conservatory Outlet operates.”
