Inverness Caledonian Thistle have a history of shocks against Celtic but even the day they went ballistic at Parkhead and stunned Martin O'Neill's men in the Highlands wouldn't compare to a victory against Ange Postecoglou's treble-chasers at Hampden on Saturday.
The Caley Jags are a staggering best price odds of 35/1 to beat the Hoops in Mount Florida and end the 2022/23 domestic season with one of the biggest upsets - if not the biggest - in Scottish football history. Billy Dodds will be hoping to defy those odds and his job is to make his players believe they can get their hands on that trophy, which the club won back in 2015.
For Postecoglou and his troops it's about remaining focused on the job in hand and blanking out the speculation linking the Parkhead boss with Tottenham Hotspur. Inverness will need the kind of good fortune that smiled on them in the 2015 cup semi final when Celtic had Craig Gordon sent off and were denied a blatant handball penalty kick that should have seen Josh Meekings red carded. But if Lady Luck stays indoors today, it’s going to be a hard afternoon for the Championship side. Celtic should win with plenty to spare.

Inverness can dream but I fear this might turn into a nightmare. Celtic have been too good for most this season and the chances are they’ll be in the mood today. An early goal and it could be a long afternoon for the Highlanders.

The speculation surrounding Ange Postecoglou could have been seen as an advantage for the Highlanders but the likelihood is the Hoops will put on one final show for the Aussie to ensure he goes out on a high, if indeed he does agree a Spurs switch. It’s just too big an ask for Billy Dodds and his men, but in Billy Mckay they have enough of a threat to grab a goal.

The Hoops stand on the brink of making history and not even the distraction of this week’s Spurs circus circling round Ange Postecoglou will distract the Parkhead side from completing their mission as they look to complete a world record eighth domestic clean sweep. Inverness have done incredibly well to make it this far but there will be no stopping Celtic and their Treble charge.
