Shohei Ohtani is fitting in just fine with his new Los Angeles Dodgers teammates.
In a 20-second video posted by the Dodgers’ official social media account on Wednesday, Ohtani and fellow Japanese star Yoshinobu Yamamoto were recorded while learning a few new Spanish phrases from teammate Teoscar Hernandez.
“Buenos días,” Ohtani said while resting his head on Hernandez’s shoulder.
Hernandez then taught the two-way superstar the Spanish word for “fans.”
“Buenos días fanáticos,” Ohtani said with a smile.

Hernandez then shifted the camera to show Yamamoto, who was standing in the background wearing his No. 18 Dodgers jersey.
“Buenos días,” Yamamoto said, with a bit of help from his teacher Hernandez.
Ohtani and Yamamoto both landed massive contracts from Los Angeles this offseason. In December, Ohtani signed a record-breaking 10-year, $700 million deal that includes $680 million in deferred money. A few weeks later, Yamamoto inked a 12-year contract worth $325 million.
The two Japanese stars will be teammates—and students—together for a long, long time.
