Value Scope: Each-way racing tips from Steve Jones for Saturday on ITV

ENJOY the View at Sandown this afternoon.

FIRST VIEW (2.15) has a great record when racing in Britain. He’s won four races from seven starts when he stays on these shores and he was also only beaten four lengths in last year’s red-hot John Smith’s Cup at York in one of the defeats.

This will be his first run since a disappointing spell in Dubai in the winter but that’s not a bother.

He goes extremely well when fresh and his poor Meydan efforts are not worth worrying about as he just doesn’t seem to like the place. In fact, he hasn’t finished within 12 lengths of the winner in any of his six runs in Dubai.

With Godolphin trainer Saeed bin Suroor in great form, the 16-1 on offer is way over-priced. Have 3pts each-way. Most bookies are paying out on four places with Sky Bet stretching to five.

ADMIRAL D (2.35) will be loving the warm weather at York.

He had some smart form over 6f last summer and he hasn’t had the fast ground he likes in four tries over today’s extra furlong.

Richard Fahey’s runner has slipped in the weights after three runs this season on softer conditions. He didn’t run badly in the first two and the combination of testing ground and 7f was just too much for him in Ascot’s Victoria Cup.

Those below par efforts have made him well treated on last season’s form and that allows him to take a drop in grade. Have 3pts each-way at 10-1.

I also fancy Fahey’s REIDH (3.20) to go well at Chester.

He’s yet to win in four starts but some of his novice form from last year makes him very interesting.

His third behind subsequent 2000 Guineas runner-up Hi Royal in the second of them makes him well handicapped.

He ran much better than his finishing position suggests at York last month. Way too keen when held up in a slowly-run race, he made his challenge too early before weakening.

From a good draw, he should never be 25-1. Have 1pt each-way. Most bookies are paying out on four places.
