Two in court following alleged attempted murder outside Lanarkshire pub

Two people have appeared in private at Hamilton Sheriff Court in relation to an attempted murder.

Melissa McKee and James Reid were in the dock following an alleged incident in East Kilbride on Friday afternoon.

McKee made no plea or declaration in relation charges of assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, danger of life and attempted murder.

The 43-year-old, from East Kilbride, was remanded in custody.

The alleged incident took place in the town’s Montgomery Street in the early evening of Friday (April 29).

A 50-year-old man was taken to hospital by paramedics with serious injuries.

Thirty-year-old Reid, from Hamilton, also made no plea or declaration in relation to the same charges.

The Hamilton man was also remanded in custody.

Both are expected to appear back before a Sheriff in the coming weeks.
