Gladiators

5.50pm, BBC One

After proving to be a smashing TV revival success story (despite having Bradley and Barney Walsh on presenting duties), the returned teatime games show reaches its thrilling climax with four fearless finalists. They must face five of the show’s favourite events (Duel! Powerball! Hang Tough!), before going head to head in the testing Eliminator challenge. Who will be crowned Gladiators champion 2024? Hollie Richardson

Michael McIntyre’s Big Show

6.50pm, BBC One

If you rate McIntyre’s Bafta-winning humour, you should tune in to this 10-year anniversary special. As it says on the tin, the show celebrates the funniest moments – including pranks, the favourite “Send to All” segment and Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams’s karaoke surprises. Kayleigh Dray

The Weakest Link

7.50pm, BBC One

This Morning presenter Josie Gibson, the nation’s favourite investigative journalist Stacey Dooley, former Taskmaster-er Sophie Duker and Guardian columnist Adrian Chiles are some of the famous names facing questions against the clock this week – with the winnings going to a charity of their choice. Ella Fitzgerald: A Life in Ten Pictures

8.35pm, BBC Two

Starting with the first known picture of her singing at the Apollo in New York City in 1935, this tour of Ella Fitzgerald’s life shows 10 remarkable photos that are both personal and iconic. Those who were there when the shots were taken and those who knew her help tell the full story. HR

The Gone

9pm, BBC Four

A classier than average whodunnit concludes, not quite escaping the rote structure of a crime drama finale: detectives suddenly realise things and dialogue scenes take place that wouldn’t be there if one of the participants weren’t the murderer. We get a messy standoff and answers delivered via flashbacks. Jack Seale

The Jonathan Ross Show

9.35pm, ITV1

How do you honour both the talent and tragedy of Amy Winehouse? Marisa Abela and Sam Taylor-Johnson – respectively the star and director of upcoming biopic Back to Black – will be explaining their approach. Also on Ross’s couch this week: Kirsten Dunst, David Walliams and YouTuber turned musician Yung Filly. Graeme Virtue

Film choice

On the Waterfront, 2.30pm, BBC Two

With its grimy urban locations, punchy jazz score from Leonard Bernstein and cast full of Actors Studio alumni, Elia Kazan’s Oscar-laden 1954 drama has the smack of authentic New York life. Marlon Brando is convincingly downbeat as Terry Molloy, a boxer turned aimless dogsbody for corrupt union official Johnny Friendly (Lee J Cobb). But when a longshoreman about to give Johnny up to the crime commission is thrown off a roof, Terry develops a conscience – helped by the dead man’s sister Edie (Eva Marie Saint) and Karl Malden’s battling priest. Simon Wardell
