Trea Turner Saved the Phillies With the Most Beautiful Defensive Play of the MLB Playoffs

The Philadelphia Phillies took Game 1 of their National League Division Series with the Braves with a hard-fought 3-0 victory in Atlanta on Saturday

The biggest play of the game came from the man who the Phillies gave $300 million to last winter - Trea Turner. The former Dodger made one of the coolest defensive plays in the eighth inning when made a diving stop on a ground ball and was somehow able to get enough on his backhand toss to second to start a double play to end the inning.

The Braves would have scored one run on the play if not for Turner, and they would have been in a good position to maybe even tie things up or take the lead if the inning hadn’t come to an abrupt end.

Look at this effort from Turner:

That toss to second was absolutely incredible.
