Tom Hiddleston Reflects On 14 Years As Marvel's Loki

Hiddleston uncertain about returning as Loki.

Tom Hiddleston recently reflected on his 14-year journey portraying Loki in Marvel films and TV shows, expressing uncertainty about a potential return to the iconic role. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the actor discussed his role in the series The Night Manager, which is set to return for two more seasons after an eight-year hiatus.

Hiddleston revealed that when he was cast as Loki in 2009, he had no idea he would be playing the character for such a significant portion of his adult life. The actor acknowledged the transformative impact the role has had on his career, stating that it has completely altered the course of his life.

When asked about the possibility of reprising the role of Loki, Hiddleston admitted uncertainty, indicating that while season two of Loki provided a satisfying narrative conclusion, he remains unsure about the character's future.

Despite Loki's complex character arc in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hiddleston emphasized that he does not view Loki as a traditional villain. He highlighted the character's evolution over the years, suggesting that Loki has made more heroic and loving choices as the story has progressed.

Unlike some Marvel stars who keep mementos from their time on set, Hiddleston disclosed that he has not retained any items, including Loki's iconic horns. He humorously mentioned the logistical challenge of storing the horns and joked about the message it would send to guests if he displayed them prominently.

Executive producer Kevin R. Wright shared insights on the Loki season two finale, describing it as a proper sendoff for the show. While hinting at the possibility of future stories within the Loki universe, Wright emphasized the importance of providing a conclusive ending for the series.
