31-year-old TikTok star, Kimberley Nix announces her own death from Metastatic Sarcoma

Dr Kimberley Knix, a beloved TikToker from Calgary, Alberta, tragically passed away on May 8 due to metastatic sarcoma. At the age of 31, she had amassed a following of over 147,000 on the platform, where she courageously shared her cancer journey after being diagnosed at 28.

Dr Knix, who was in the final year of her internal medicine core residency, used her platform to educate others about sarcoma and to emphasize the importance of appreciating life's beauty. She highlighted the lack of screening tests for sarcoma and shared her own experience of discovering a rapidly growing lump in her leg, a common symptom of soft tissue sarcoma.

Undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma, the type Dr Knix battled, typically affects the legs, arms, or back of the abdomen, according to the National Cancer Institute. Despite her diagnosis, she remained resilient, urging her followers to focus on the positive aspects of life beyond illness.

In her final video posted on the day of her passing, Dr Knix bid farewell to her followers with a message of gratitude and love. She expressed how her followers had given her purpose and joy during her final days.

The TikTok community and Dr Knix's followers have been deeply moved by her passing, with tributes pouring in to honor her memory. Many expressed their condolences and shared how Dr Knix had touched their lives with her bravery and positivity.
