Thousands watch medieval jousting event at West Lothian palace

Spectators endured the unpredictable weather to take in some of the spectacular Jousting that came to Linlithgow Palace last weekend.

Crowds watched fearless fighters and their magnificent horses take aim at each other, resulting in a few tumbles and shattered lances.

Skill, speed and the ultimate fight for glory spectators watched as four knights competed in captivating battles to be crowned the champion!

It was an afternoon of exhilarating horsemanship and impressive skills.

Visitors also had the chance to explore living history camps.

Offering historical family fun the annual event is organised by Historic Environment Scotland and is held in the medieval Linlithgow Palace in West Lothian.

The event features falconry as well as hand-to-hand combat and a host of other displays and interactive exhibits from the middle ages.
