The Masked Singer's Phoenix 'rumbled' as Scottish star as expert spots telling detail

The Masked Singer's semi final is upon us and the judges still are guessing who's behind the mask.

One stand out star has been Phoenix who gives a theatrical performance each time. However, the judges are still none the wiser as to who the celebrity is.

One vocal expert thinks he's has found one telling detail that could suggest who it is - and according to him he's a Scottish comedian.

While some are guessing it could be Doctor Who star David Tennant, others think it could be Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson after paint brushes were spotted. Kaiser Chief fans will know that the lead singer used to be an art teacher before he joined the band.

This wouldn't have been Ricky's first reality TV stunt either after being a judge on The Voice and comedian Katherine Ryan also admitted she thought she recognised the Phoenix's voice as the I Predict a Riot singer.

Meanwhile, speaking to The Express, vocal expert TommyD, music producer, and co-founder of TokenTraxx, also thinks Wilson could be behind Phoenix, he does have another prediction.

He explained: "I think I heard a tinge of Scots coming into the performance tonight.

"There’s a few obvious choices but I’m gonna go complete curveball and say Frankie Boyle.

"He’s mad enough to do it and actually a great singer, if you like that drunk Uncle at a wedding karaoke party."

After comedian Katherine Ryan was unveiled as Pigeon, she told the Daily Star she thought it was Ricky Wilson.

She said: "I think that I recognise Phoenix's voice.

"I feel like because I'm a fan of the Kaiser Chiefs, I feel like it sounds like Ricky Wilson but I don't know that for sure."

The Masked Singer UK is on STV at 7pm and STV Player.
