The First Omen Expected To Debut On Hulu In June

Nell Tiger Free stars as Margaret in a scene from the movie 'The First Omen.' The prequel to the classic horror film 'The Omen,' titled 'The First Omen,' had a disappointing debut in theaters, prompting speculation about its future release on streaming platforms.

During its opening weekend, 'The First Omen' failed to meet box office expectations, earning an estimated $8.4 million domestically. However, the film performed better internationally, garnering $9.1 million in ticket sales across 43 markets.

Given its lackluster domestic reception, industry experts anticipate that 'The First Omen' will make its way to streaming platforms sooner rather than later. The movie was originally intended to be a Hulu original production, as Disney, the parent company of 20th Century Studios, owns the streaming service.

While a specific streaming date has not been confirmed, reports suggest that 'The First Omen' could become available on Hulu as early as June. Prior to its streaming release, the film is expected to be offered on digital platforms for premium video on demand, typically priced at $19.99 for rental and $24.99 for purchase.

'The First Omen' is set in 1971, preceding the events of the original 'Omen' film by five years. The story follows Margaret, portrayed by Nell Tiger Free, a young novitiate tasked with overseeing a group of orphaned girls in Rome. As she uncovers a sinister plot to bring forth a new Antichrist, Margaret grapples with her own troubled past and encounters terrifying visions that blur the line between reality and fantasy.

While audiences await the arrival of 'The First Omen' on streaming platforms, the 1976 version of 'The Omen' is currently available for streaming on Hulu and Roku. Viewers interested in watching the classic horror film can access it on various digital platforms for a rental fee of $3.99 or less.
